COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
PRIVATE LESSONS:
While group classes can be so much fun, it’s the private lessons that allow us to refine your skills and work on the fundamentals necessary to increasing your marksmanship and build your confidence. This is where relationships are developed so that we can better meet your needs and customize your training plan. The private indoor classes are held at Orange County‘s Premier indoor range, FT3 Tactical. Private outdoor classes will be held at Mike Raahauge’s in Corona.

MONTHLY OUTDOOR PISTOL WITH HOLSTER RANGE SKILLS CLASS:
Must be holster proficient and operate safely. These classes vary from week to week and include many of the following: defensive strategies, multiple threat, movement, high intensity training, shooting from different positions, reload drills, shooting through and around barriers, competitive style shooting, precision shooting, and much more. We often incorporate competition between students, and qualification “tests“, but most of all our students enjoy coming out being part of something special and unique to our second amendment community. Safety first, progress next, and a lot of camaraderie! Our students have come to enjoy and look forward to week after week. Held at Mike Raahauge’s Shooting Range.

Required Equipment: Firearm, holster, at least two mag pouches, three magazines, a sturdy belt and billed cap, water, eye & ear protection and any Range Fees. AMMO 150 Round Count.
BEGINNER HANDGUN:
This class is the foundation and building block of the fundamentals of shooting. It is designed for those interested in gaining a basic working knowledge of firearms, firearm safety, and shooting fundamentals. You will learn about the four basic safety rules, safe handling, proper storage, and the legal aspects of travel. New shooters have so many questions and we will patiently answer each and every one. We will cover the four fundamentals of getting good hits on target, help you establish a repeatable stance, grip, sight picture, and trigger press. After instruction there will be practical application with live fire. If you own your own handgun, please bring it and we will instruct you with it. This class is designed for the new gun owner or those looking to purchase. We can also help direct you in making that purchase. You will leave this class feeling like a safer and more proficient and confident shooter. Your smile is our reward.

PROGRESSIVE HANDGUN:
This class is designed for the student that has had minimal pistol training and looking to get more experience with mechanical manipulation, magazine exchange, and situational awareness including multiple threats and introduction to movement. This class reinforces what you learned in the beginning handgun class and builds needed core skills. It is recommended that it be a steppingstone between beginner’s handgun and intro to holster.

INTRO TO HOLSTER:
This three hour course requires you to bring your own firearm, holster, at least two mag pouches, three magazines, and a sturdy belt. You will learn how to get your firearm safely and efficiently out of the holster incorporating the 5-point holster draw and up on target with a clear sight picture. The steps will be broken down mechanically and logically, then it will begin to flow into one smooth draw stroke that leads to a fast sight acquisition. This class is the foundation to the rest of your shooting journey. We will incorporate movement and pistol manipulation learning to shoot on the move and quick reloads keeping your gun ready for action. You need to have strong fundamental skills for this class.

DEFENSIVE PISTOL:
This 4 hour class is designed for the more advanced shooter who is willing to get down and dirty, move and shoot, shoot from seated, and kneeling positions. Techniques taught in this class are based off of defensive tactics and real world skills essential to being able to perform in a high stress environment. Shoot around and through barricades using movement to and from cover. You will develop skills and the mindset essential to surviving a potentially life threatening situation. This class requires a solid foundation and skill set.

CCW CLINIC & SKILLS COURSE
Keep your skills refined. To be a responsible CCW holder you need ongoing training and we’ve designed this class just for you! This course is for CCW holders wanting to hone their defensive shooting and mindset. We consider real life scenarios and learn to quickly situational awareness. It is an entirely concealment based class to help keep current and refine principle carry defensive skills. While drawing from concealment, we will help enforce proper stance, grip, trigger manipulation while acquiring target acquisition for greater accuracy. Must have quality IWB or OWB Kydex holster with safe gun and holster manipulation skill to attend.

INTRO TO COMPETITIVE SHOOTING:
This course introduces students to the fun world of competitive shooting and is designed to provide a hands-on learning environment to the skills needed to shoot IDPA, USPSA, and IPSC competition. This course will take you from a recreational shooter to a competitor! Students will become familiar with the various disciplines of competition shooting including range procedures and commands, required equipment for competition, effective draw and reload technique and stage walk-through & preparation. You will implement live-fire drills designed to enhance your ability to rapidly and accurately engage targets. Near the end of class, depending on bay space, we will run through either a basic, but challenging stage where you will be timed and scored as you would in a competitive event or you will take the IDPA 5x5 Classifier to test your skills we have worked on throughout the day. This Competitive Shooting course is suitable for all experience levels – from beginner to expert. This course introduces the more advanced shooter who feels like they are ready to take on the challenge of entering the exciting world of competitive shooting in a match. These events are meant to be fun and challenging, but they also simulate self-defense scenarios and real-life encounters.
